Sharing photos

Important: Each time photos in a shared album are altered by the owner, including adding photos to the album or deleting photos from the album, changes to the album are reflected within the recipient's account. If the album is deleted, it will also be deleted from the recipient’s shared albums list.

Sharing your photos

You can share your Kodak Gallery online photos by sending your friends and family a customised email invitation. Viewing your photos is as simple as clicking a button from an email invite.

You can choose to have your friends and family:

  • Sign in to their Gallery account to view your photos. By signing in, your friends can view your photos anytime, share them with others, order prints and other photo products and make comments.
  • View your shared photos without signing in to their Gallery account. They will still have the opportunity to create their own account.

Note: Your friends and family cannot edit or delete your photos; only you can do this.

How to share your photos via Email

To share one album:

  1. Sign in to your Gallery account.
  2. Click Share.
  3. Select the album that you would like to share by clicking "Select Album".
  4. Click "Next".
  5. Enter the email addresses of each recipient that you would like to share your album with or click "Friends & Groups".
  6. Enter a subject and message.
  7. Uncheck the checkbox next to "Require friends to sign in to view and save your photos" if you do not want your friends to sign in to view your shared albums.
  8. Click "Send email invitation".

To share multiple albums at once:

  1. Sign in to your Gallery account.
  2. Click Share.
  3. Select the album that you would like to share by clicking "Select Album".
  4. Click "Next".
  5. Click "add more albums or photos". Click "Select Album" next to the additional albums that you would like to share, and click "Continue".
    • To remove an album from your share list, click under the album that you would like to remove.
    • To change the order that a shared album appears in, click or .
  6. Enter the email addresses of each recipient that you would like to share your album with or click "Friends & Groups".
  7. Enter a subject and message.
  8. Uncheck the checkbox next to "Require friends to sign in to view and save your photos" if you do not want your friends to sign in to view your shared albums.
  9. Click "Send email invitation".

To share specific photos from an album:

  1. Sign in to your Gallery account.
  2. Click Share.
  3. Select the album that includes the photos that you would like to share by clicking "Select Album".
  4. Click "edit" next to the number of photos that are included within that album.
  5. Click the thumbnails that you do not want shared. The unshared photos will display with a greyed hue.
  6. Click "Save" > "Next".
  7. Enter the email addresses of each recipient that you would like to share your album with or click "Friends & Groups".
  8. Enter a subject and message.
  9. Uncheck the checkbox next to "Require friends to sign in to view and save your photos" if you do not want your friends to sign in to view your shared albums.
  10. Click "Send email invitation".

How to share your photos via Facebook

To share one album:

  5. Click the "Share on Facebook" tab if not already highlighted
  6. Review the Terms, and then click the Terms checkbox.
  7. Click "Share on Facebook". (It will bring you to a Facebook popup)
  8. Login to your Facebook account (if you are not already logged in).
  9. Enter the album title.
  10. Click "Share".
  11. Your album URL will be posted on your Wall and shared as a Live Feed.

To share multiple albums at once:

  1. Sign in to your Gallery account.

  3. Select the album(s) that you would like to share by clicking "Select Album".
    • To remove an album from your share list, click under the album that you would like to remove.

Privacy and Security
By choosing to share your photos on Facebook, the KODAK Gallery privacy and security protections will no longer apply. Who sees these pictures depends on your settings on Facebook, not on the KODAK Gallery. All KODAK Gallery photos that you post on Facebook are viewable by all who visit your Facebook account. Please use caution when deciding which photos to post on Facebook.

Important Facebook sharing note
All subsequent changes made to this posted album, including adding and deleting photos, will be visible to those who have access to your Facebook account. Please note that when you share images, you allow the recipients to share the images with others, add them to their own accounts or galleries, and make photographic prints from those images. View Section 18 of our Terms of Service for more information.

How to delete a link to Gallery album posted on Facebook:
Simply delete the URL posting from your Facebook Wall.

The benefits of signing in to view photos

Each time your friends sign in to view an album that you shared with them:

  • Your photos will be stored in their account under "All Friends' Albums". This will let your friends easily order prints and other photo products using your photos.
  • The date and time of their visit will appear in your guestbook. Whenever you share photos, your friends can forward the invitation to others. They can also share your photos directly from their own account. However, if you require your friends to sign in, all subsequent invitees will also be required to sign in and their visits will be recorded in your guestbook.

Recommendation: If you are sharing private or sensitive photos, please share only with those whom you trust.

Viewing your friends' photos

From the invitation in your email Inbox:

  1. Open the shared photo email invitation.
  2. Click "View photos" or the album icon. The Gallery will open in your web browser.
    • If your friend requires you to sign in to view their album, you will be given the opportunity to sign in to your Gallery account or to create an account. By doing so, your friends' photos will be saved to your account under "All Friends' Albums". This way, you can view their photos anytime, share them with others, order prints and other photo products and post comments.
    • If your friend does not require you to sign in, the album slideshow will begin automatically.

To view your friends' previously shared albums:

  1. Click "View & Edit Photos".
  2. Click "All Friends' Albums".
  3. Click the shared album you want to view.

Guestbook

About your guestbook

Your guestbook is a record of your invitations, visitors and their comments. It allows you to see when your friends have viewed your photos if they have signed in before doing so.

Viewing your guestbook

To view your Guestbook:

  1. Click "My Account" > "Guestbook".
  2. Within your guestbook, you can:
    1. Click "Visits" to see when your friends view your shared albums.
    2. Click "Comments" to read the comments your friends post to your shared photos.
    3. Click "Invitations" to review a list of guests, the album they were invited to view, and the date and time your invitations were sent.

Friends & Groups

About Friends & Groups

Friends & Groups is a collection of contact information and delivery addresses. It is a list of people you have shared your albums with or sent orders to. Whenever you share photos with someone new, their email address is automatically added to Friends & Groups. Within Friends & Groups, you can add friends, create groups or manage your addresses.

Adding a friend

To add a friend:

  1. Go to "My Account" > "Friends & Groups" > "Add a Friend".
  2. Complete the form by entering your friend's email address. Their first and last name, mobile number and delivery address is optional information.
  3. Click "Save".

Adding a group

To add a group:

  1. Go to "My Account" > "Friends & Groups" > "Add a Group".
  2. Enter the name of your group. (Example: "family" or "co-workers".)
  3. Check the boxes next to each name or email address that you would like to include within that group.
  4. To add additional friends that are not listed, enter their email address and first and last names.
  5. Click "Save".

Managing your addresses

To edit your friends' contact information:

  1. Go to "My Account" > "Friends & Groups".
  2. Click the pencil icon next to each friend or group's information that you would like to edit. Click "Save" to save the changes.
  3. Click the bin icon next to each friend or group's information that you would like to delete. Click "Delete Friend" or "Delete Group" to save the changes.

To manage your delivery addresses, go to "My Account" > "Delivery Addresses".

To manage your credit card invoice addresses, go to "My Account" > "Invoice Information".

Using Friends & Groups to share photos

To share your photos using Friends & Groups:

  1. Click Share.
  2. Click "Select album" next to each album that you would like to share.
  3. Click "Next".
  4. Click "Friends & Groups".
  5. Check the checkboxes next to the name of each friend or group that you would like to share your photos with.
  6. Click "Continue" to import their email addresses into your email invitation.
  7. Enter a subject and message.
  8. Uncheck the checkbox next to "Require friends to sign in to view and save your photos" if you do not want your friends to sign in to view your shared albums.
  9. Click "Send email invitation".

Tip: When you begin typing the name or email address of a friend in the "To:" field of the share invitation form, a list of matches from Friends & Groups will appear. You can select your friend from the list provided or continue typing their name or email address.
